Year 1
The teacher in Year 1 is Miss Weare. We are also supported by Mrs Bhogal.
Mrs Bettridge also teaches us for one day a week on a Wednesday.
Year 1 is a very exciting and important year, when children make the transition from the Early Years into Key Stage 1. To help ensure the transition is as smooth as possible, we will still be incorporating the early year’s curriculum into our learning at the start of the year. As children become more confident and ready for a more formal curriculum, lessons will still follow a student centred approach to learning, and our goal is to maintain and encourage their enthusiasm for learning by providing hands-on activities. Over the year, we will cover a wide range of topics – for example, historical figures, introduction to programming and computing, world religions, and mathematical reasoning and problem solving!
