Testimonials

Letters of Recognition

These Testimonials have been written by a mixture of parents and visitors to the school.

February 2024

Today my husband, son and daughter had a tour around Chorleywood Primary. We just wanted to pass on a big thank you to the two year 6 students that showed us around, (P) and (I). They were both extremely articulate, hospitable and enthusiastic. The tour was jam packed with information about curriculum, the house system, badges, reading, writing, they showcased the beautiful displays around the school and the extra curricular activities they attend…the list could go on!

We were equally impressed with the class rep welcoming us to each classroom with plenty of confidence and smiles.

It was clear that (I) and (P) were very proud to be students at the school. They are not only a credit to Chorleywood Primary but also to their families.  Please pass on my thank yous to the students.

Best wishes

Mrs B, prospective parent

December 2022

We just wanted to say a huge thank you for L's first full term at Chorleywood Primary. She has loved every minute and we have been quite simply amazed by the experiences she has had. We are so grateful that she attends such a wonderful school.

We would also like to say a big thank you for all of the festive activities and fun that the school has provided in the build-up to Christmas. The Nativity was wonderful and the Christmas Party was so well organised and sounded like great fun for all. We are extremely grateful for all of the hard work that you and your staff put into everything to give the children such an enriching experience every single day.

Kind regards,

Mr & Mrs N, parents.

December 2022

Further to my visit to your school yesterday, I would like to thank you and your staff for allowing me to visit and present my book.

I was made to feel so welcome by all the staff and children that I met and a special thanks to Mrs Allen for arranging it.

The pupils were so enthusiastic and of course I had the special honour of meeting Betsy too!

With best wishes

Kind regards

Veronica Colley

Graham Hunt, HCC Bikeability Team

What a great return after the Easter break teaching Yr6 their Bikeability Level 2 course. After a lively start on Monday, they settled down for the rest of the week.  The children were attentive, polite, willing to ask questions, a credit to themselves and the school. Us 3 instructors (Graham, Ed, Fiona) all agreed it has been a great return to Chorleywood Primary after many years absence. Thanks also to Yr6 teachers and office staff for accommodating us with our many requests.

We wish Year 6 all the best for the remainder of their time at CPS and also good luck when they move on to BIG school in September.

"I hosted an animal encounter science workshop at Chorleywood primary school recently, focusing on some key points in their curriculum . We had time with each class and I found all the pupils to be really focused and eager to learn more about the topics covered and they also appeared to have an excellent base knowledge even though they had only recently began learning about some of the subjects in the curriculum.

We also held a meet and greet with staff prior to the workshops and I found all the staff really keen to get involved and learn about the animals we have and face their fears with some of them, a really dedicated team of teachers!

Overall I was really impressed with all staff and students at Chorleywood and loved how they’re pushing their progress with teaching and learning about science beyond just the set curriculum , definitely one of the best schools with worked with in terms of how focused about learning everyone was ."

"As L approaches her final term at Chorleywood Primary School. I would like to add my voice to say a special thank you to all the staff who have guided her through her primary education.

The teaching is first class, the staff are very easy to approach, and when needed extra help is offered.

In her happy time at the school she had the opportunity to sing at the Albert Hall, learn to play the flute, have sailing lessons and become a very competent swimmer.  All guided by her teachers.

Thank you for making her early school years so fulfilled and happy."

"There is a strong sense of community at Chorleywood Primary and everyone makes you feel welcome when you walk through the door. The school provides a positive attitude to learning and development which builds confidence, the progress in my child has been amazing. We also appreciate the excellent communication, including prompt responses to e-mails, and phone messages with reminders. The teachers and the staff are very helpful and approachable."

"I attended the Nursery tour this morning at Chorleywood Primary School...It was extremely informative and very well structured.

I am a teacher myself and I can honestly say that, throughout the 12 years that I have been qualified and also as a prospective parent having visited and worked with a number of schools, I have never been so impressed with the level of knowledge and professionalism which your Year 6 pupils demonstrated today. It is clear that they are very proud of their school and thoroughly enjoy being pupils at Chorleywood Primary School. They are an absolute credit to you and your school."

"During a difficult time of ill health in the family, I was touched and very impressed by the way the school listened confidentially and understood my concerns for the effect it may have had on our son at school. I felt very confident that our son would have been offered excellent supportive care should he have needed it."

A special thank you to Year 6 and all the staff and teachers for making us feel so welcome. The children were so attentive towards us. They were very polite and also very friendly - a lovely group of intelligent young men and women.

Plus they make a cracking cup of tea and coffee!

We were all amazed how well all the students learnt their songs and performed them with a smile on their faces and little dance moves. They worked so hard.

On the way home the members were all full of praise towards the whole afternoon.  All the pupils are a true credit to your school."

"As a parent of 3 children my family have been coming to this school for 11 years with 5 more to go. In my 11 years attending this school I have seen many new changes to this school with all of them making a positive impact to my 3 children’s learning and developing. The school offers a wide range of experiences and opportunities for children to learn.

The school is very well supported within the community which I think is important to the school and the children. I have recommended this school to many of my friends who have preschool age children who were very impressed with their first visit and tour of the school, all hoping to get a space at the school"

"Our son was really apprehensive about doing new things and found transitions really difficult at times.  He was worried about the residential field trip at the start of the year and his class teacher worked really closely with the whole class on making sure all the children felt happy and confident about spending two nights away from family for the first time.  We were so proud of how our son coped with leaving to go on the trip and how confident and mature he was about how he was feeling.  The supportive, caring and nurturing way the staff at the school help  children to grow into confident, mature young people is something the school should be very proud of and is something which we as parents are very grateful for!"
