Welcome

Welcome to Chorleywood Primary School

I am extremely proud to work in partnership with staff and governors to lead Chorleywood Primary School. Our motto is “ Happy and successful” and we believe that our children cannot be successful if they are not happy. The emotional and physical wellbeing of our pupils is just as important as our excellent academic achievements. Our behaviour for learning characteristics underpin everything we do and we know developing these essential life skills will help our children to succeed not only now but in later life, they are:

Listener

Enthusiastic

Ambitious

Resilient

Nurturing

Engaged

Respectful

When entering our school you will immediately feel the warmth, friendliness and mutual respect that underpins all we do at Chorleywood Primary School. Staff are passionate and seek to inspire our children. We have very high expectations for all our pupils, regardless of their starting points.  We aim for each day to be an exciting one, providing a wide range of experiences and opportunities for children to learn more about themselves and the world around them.  At Chorleywood Primary School our pupils have ownership of their learning and this results in them developing a love of learning that they take with them to the next stage of their educational journey.  Despite gaining an outstanding judgment from Ofsted in 2019, school leaders are constantly seeking ways to enrich our provision.

Our staff will personalise the learning for your child. We work with your child and yourself to meet their individual needs so they are as successful as possible academically, and so they are the best person they can possibly be.

Our School Council, Eco Team and Sports Committee are just a few ways in which pupils help shape the direction of the school. Our “Dream Big” project aims to engage and empower children to think about the world, work, and how it connects to areas of the curriculum that excite them. Members of the community come to talk to the children about their job roles and career paths. The society in which our pupils are growing up in is ever changing and evolving, jobs they may end up working in may not even currently exist! We have decided to create a four year, twelve term rolling programme to deliver different career fields throughout KS2.

“The provision for physical education (PE) and sport is outstanding. The substantial PE enrichment programme ensures that all pupils participate and achieve great success.” Ofsted 19. We offer an excellent range of extra-curricular activities where children can have fun, develop new skills and take part in festivals with children from other local schools.
