 Three Chorleywood girls have raised more than £700 in 24 hours for the people of Ukraine.

Maggie Smith, Gigi Hickey and Mia Ford, all Year 5 pupils at Chorleywood Primary School, will dust off their running shoes and tackle a 5k fundraiser around the area on Sunday (March 13).

 

Mia’s mum Angela said: "They have come up with this idea on their own and have never run anything close to 5k before so it will be a big challenge for them.

"The route will be around Chorleywood so if you live locally and see them running past please give them a cheer!"

 

Maggie's mum Liz added: "I'm really proud that the girls decided to do something to help other people and I think it's a great example of what young girls can achieve when they put their minds to something."

All money raised will go directly to DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal run by ActionAid.
