Chorleywood Primary School has a School Council which is made up of a boy and a girl from each class from Reception to Year 6, and each class votes for their representative at the start of the school year. The School Council then meets monthly.
Councillors bring concerns raised by their classes to the meetings for discussion. If necessary, these are then taken by councillors to the appropriate member of staff. The School Council will continue to identify any improvements they think could be made, and specific duties in the past have included overseeing the burial of our time capsule, choosing the attendance award trip, and continuing to monitor the progress of school catering.
The School Council is also responsible for organising fund raising events each year. Last year we supported Children in Need, Red Nose Day, the NSPCC and Watford New Hope Trust. Mrs Roberts listens to all our designs and we plan what we can do to achieve them. - From the School Council.
